That’s it. One book on spiritual leadership and an exam, and I am through with the Spring semester. I have just finished up with fifteen weeks of reading on leadership, vision, Christian education, linguistics, expository outlining, and personal evangelism. Exciting stuff? No. Not really. Unfortunately, for every class you want to take, the degree requires two that you don’t want to take. They want me to be well rounded or something. However, I did enjoy the expository outlining course, but the linguistics portion was a bit too deep for me. Oh well, at least I am through with this semester.
Now for some reading on topics which I will truly enjoy, KJV Onlyism, Sign gifts, and Calvinism. Yeah! I get a whole summer to read for pleasure.
That’s it. Two weeks! That’s two weeks until my semester is finished, and I still have a ton of work to finish. I have four books to read, and write reviews of. I have three major assignments which I have not started yet, and two major projects which I should have done a month ago. I have four tests to study for, and then take. All of this in less than two weeks. All of that and I still have to work my full time job. But at least I have the next six days off. Thank God for that!
Anyway, come May 5th, I will have a few more letters to put behind my name, as I will graduate with the M. Min. degree. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean much, since the Army says I need the M. Div, or equivalent to serve as a chaplain. That is going to take me at least one more year to accomplish. But at least I have made some progress.
Then later this summer, I will serve a month or two on active duty. The location and actual dates have not yet been determined. I am in the process of choosing, and making my request to the Army at this time. Oh, and that means I must get with my workout program. I am not even close to being in physical shape for active duty. I gotta start running, and losing about twenty pounds.
Oh, then there is Spring modules and Summer classes which I need to sign up for. I don’t know how I will have time to do these. I may not. Sometime this summer, we need to take a little vacation somewhere, and it will be kinda difficult with the classes. Plus, there is all kinds of things that need attention around the house, like cutting the grass. Again. It seems my list of things to do never ends, yet I can never find the time to do them. What have I gotten myself into?
Well, if this is what it takes, then this is what I do.
To God be the glory!
