This cartoon sums up what Memorial Day is for most Americans. Many of the people I talk to who haven’t served in the military, think that this day is nothing more than a day off of work, or a day to go to the lake, or have a barbecue. In reality, it isn’t a day of celebration, but a day for the remembrance of the sacrifice of those who have given ALL defending our freedom.

May we take some time today to thank God for the men who have given their life for the cause of freedom, and for those who are currently serving. May we soon celebrate their victorious return, and not simply remember their sacrifice.
